If you know you will have a sum of money to pay towards your mortgage in the future (for example, a maturing policy), you can calculate the effect this will have on your mortgage balance. Just enter the amount(s) you expect to pay (minimum £1,000) and the year(s) in which you wish to make the lump sum payment.
Remember, if you have a fixed rate mortgage, you can make overpayments up to 10% of your mortgage balance per annum. If you are on a variable rate mortgage, you can make unlimited overpayments. Early repayment charges may apply.
